Eight
It did promise to stay dry but being rather safe than sorry the tables at the Buschenschank Wolff were this time placed close to the doors so to enable a quick get away indoors for the guests in case it should start to rain.
As it happened there was a brief sprinkling, in the meteorological parlance “a short shower”, causing umbrellas being opened swiftly resembling mushrooms in a forest after a warm summer’s rain. But then that was that!
Once again, for the eighth time, we enjoyed a happy and relaxed get together at this year’s jointly organised Heurigen Evening by the Austro British Chamber of Commerce and the Austro British Society, by now a treasured tradition, expertly looked after by our Corporate Member the Buschenschank Wolff.
“It is nice to meet old friends and make new acquaintances alike”. The motto of the annual gathering rang insofar true that we indeed met a lot of old friends (you can always count on our ABS members who came out in force) but new acquaintances were a bit thin on the ground. As far as I was aware, the ABC fielded just two members. But then they were very lovely ladies indeed.
When I left around 8 pm I did so with the distinct feeling that the party was not over yet. To those who didn’t make it to this event: What a pity, you missed something!
